In this episode, we show you how to assemble and install a new pergola. A pergola adds depth and height to your garden, and it is a great place for a garden furniture set. Using our handy corner connectors, assembling a pergola is the easiest thing in the world. Choose your own preferred timber in your preferred size - the possibilities are endless!
Building a pergola with 9 x 9 x 300 cm Larch posts
In this episode, Henk Jan demonstrates how to build a pergola with our 9 x 9 cm Larch and Douglas fir posts. These posts have not been treated, and their beautiful, light pink colour is untouched. The posts are 300 centimetres long, which makes them very suitable for canopies, fences, or pergolas. Remember not to install Larch or Douglas fir directly in-ground. A coat of pitch along the bottom of the posts helps to protect the timber and improve its lifespan.
Pergola corner connectors
Gadero has various types of corner joints for pergolas. The type of connector you need depends on the join, position, and diameter of the posts. In this video, we use galvanised pergola corner connectors for 9 by 9 centimetre posts. These are easy to slide onto the posts, beams, and rails to quickly build a cube or rectangle. These corner joint connectors are available for 90 degree angles, T-shaped joins, and double corners.
Aside from galvanised pergola corner connectors, we also offer powder-coated corner connectors by Nesling. These are suitable for posts between 8.5 and 12 centimetres in diameter, so they have a wider range than the galvanised connectors.
